WHY WOULD YOU WANT A DOG WITHOUT A TAIL

"A Dog without a Tail is like a Ship without a Sail!"

Historically, tail docking was thought to prevent rabies, strengthen the back, increase the animal's speed, and prevent injuries when fighting. Tail docking is done in modern times for  cosmetic purposes, and/or to prevent injury.

1. The most important reason we love our dogs having a tail is we love seeing  their emotional state in a sailing way. Happy, sad, caution just to mention a few.

2. The pain the puppies feel after docking their tail is heart breaking.

3. AKC supports dogs with tails. It does not change the quality of your dog, just a preference.

4.  If you want the look of an AKC Australian Shepherd dog for showing purposes find a breeder who supports your goals.
